Camp Rushton (a part of the Winnataska Outdoor Education Center) is a short-term camp where semi-rustic camping is the primary focus.  Located 25 miles east of Birmingham, off Interstate 20, Camp Rushton provides ample opportunity for hiking into the nine campsites but are available by road for those troops who prefer to camp with additional equipment.  Each established campsite is supplied with city water, latrines and gray-water pits and is convenient to a 32-acre lake for fishing.  Marked trails are available for Hiking Merit Badges of just good-time hiking and, for map and compass work, games, and play, there is an acre and one-half grassy field in the center of camp.  For training events and nighttime and rainy day activities, a 40’ X 40’ pavilion, as well as two activity shelters near the campsites. Also available at Camp Rushton is a campfire area and a chapel overlooking the lake with seats and lectern for religious and other activities.
