Camp Comer is located approximately four miles south of Mentone, Alabama, on Desoto Parkway.  This 864-acre facility rests high atop Lookout Mountain in Dekalb County.  Suring summer camp, Scouts can spend cool nights in one of the 70 Adirondacks.  These are wooden buildings that sleep four persons.  Comer has a large enclosed dining hall where meals and programs are part of each day.  Lake Republic is the centerpiece of Camp Comer.  Every week the well-trained waterfront staff at Comer provides campers with the opportunity to participate in activities like, Kayaking, canoeing, sail boating, fishing and swimming.  Cost of summer camp at Camp Comer is $195.00.  Camp Comer is used as the base for Xtreme Adventure Base during summer camp as well.  Youth are able to take part in a round robin of high adventure that includes mountain biking, rafting, canoeing, caving, climbing and rappelling and project COPE.  Cost of XAB is $295.00 for the week.  In the off-season, Cubs use Comer for Lookout Mountain Rendezvous and Cub Diamond Jubilee.  These events are family camping with a theme.

Equipment Usage:

Paddles and PFD’s included, must meet all BSA safety requirements, including Safe Swim Defense and Safety Afloat.

Prices include access and use of gender specific/adult/youth separated Heated Individual Showers and Restroom Facilities.
